Mi’s Journey as a sub-brand

Its been a long journey for Mi since it has first made its debut with Xiaomi’s MIUI back in 2010 followed by the first smartphone Mi 1 later in 2011. The Mi 1 was a flagship device featuring a Qualcomm Snapdragon S3 processor integrated with Adreno 220 GPU and 1GB RAM. The phone had a 4-inch TFT touchscreen display, a 1930mAh battery, an 8MP rear camera, a 2MP front camera, and ran on MIUI under the skin of Android 2.3. Since the Chinese giant has not revealed its clear intentions of getting rid of the Mi sub-brand, it will be interesting to know if the company will follow the same strategy for India and the rest of its global market.
