A consumer-facing business such as Facebook always has a lot on its table to deal with. One of the critical things among them is the privacy of its users. Facebook received and continues to receive a lot of backlash in these terms, as we have seen the platform sharing data with third parties without users’ consent, and much more. Now, it’s already plagued by the community adding default end-to-end encryption for its chat services on Instagram and Facebook. WhatsApp has this support for years, though governed by the same owner. And this makes users mad about why Facebook is taking this long to add that support to Instagram Direct and Facebook Messenger. The same happens with Telegram, another chat service that recently exploded in popularity after WhatsApp announced new data collection policies.
