Google Officially Kills Shopping App
Google launched a dedicated Shopping app in 2019 to let their users have the streamlined experience of online shopping. It serves from looking into products to managing orders and reviewing them. Soon, Google made a web version of this and added it as a tab to its Search app. This dedicated Shopping tab has the same functions, from browsing through the products from various retailers to learning details about them, and if interested, visiting the seller’s page to buy it. Also, Google made a dedicated price tracker know the price history of the product, and be alerted when needed.
The only change you may see between the mobile client and web tab is probably the UI, which has the navigation panel at the bottom in-app, and for a web app, it’s on left. Updating the app to v59, many see they’re greeted with an error message saying “Something went wrong” and ask users to try the web version.
