You might argue that these curved edges don’t add any real value to the core functionality, but they sure as hell look enchanting and have passed the test of time. In fact, we have also witnessed the “waterfall” curved display phones with steeper curves. If you are looking for phones with curved edge screens, here are a few you can consider.

1. Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra

Samsung was the one that popularized the whole Curved Edge Screen phone. Although it has toned down the curves, its 2022 flagship Galaxy S22 Ultra has a slight curve by the edges. And it tops our chart because of the quality of the AMOLED panel. Just like the OnePlus 9 Pro, it also has a 6.7-inch QHD+ AMOLED panel with a 120Hz refresh rate and HDR10+ picture quality. It is powered by Qualcomm SD8 Gen 1 octa-core chipset paired with LPDDR5 RAM and UFS 3.1 storage. It is kept alive by a 4,500mAh battery with 65W wired charging support. There is also wireless charging, and IP68 dust and water resistance rating. The OnePlus 10 Pro has already been launched in India. 3. Google Pixel 6 Pro

Off the two Pixels, the 6 Pro has got a curved screen. This is a trend wherein brands tend to use waterfall displays on their top-end model, perhaps because it appears more premium than flat. Anyhoo, this is a 6.7-inch OLED screen with a QHD+ resolution, 512ppi, 120Hz LTPO adaptive refresh rate (10Hz to 120Hz), HDR support, and a Gorilla Glass Victus shield on top. Under the hood, there is Google’s in-house Tensor SoC with LPDDR5 RAM and UFS 3.1 storage, and a 5004mAh battery. The software is Android 12, btw.

4. Vivo X70 Pro+

The X70 Pro+ 5G is one of the most exciting phones launched in 2021 in India and yes it has curved edges on both sides. The Vivo X70 Pro+ 5G (review) comes with a 6.78-inch AMOLED screen with curved edges that look really mesmerizing from every angle. It is of 1440 x 3200-pixel resolution and is capable of an adaptive refresh rate of up to 120Hz. Vivo also uses an “all-new fluorite AG coating” to ensure a smooth surface that is smudge-free. The 5G phone’s other highlights are its Gimbal rear camera system, Snapdragon 888+, 4500mAh battery, and 55W fast charging support.

5. Xiaomi Mi 11 Ultra

Xiaomi’s flagship phone for the year also sports a curved edge screen that measures 6.81-inches diagonally. It is an AMOLED display in nature with a resolution of 3200×1440 pixels, a refresh rate of 120Hz, and a peak brightness of 1700 nits. The Mi 11 Ultra 5G also comes with a Snapdragon 888 chipset which is coupled with LPDDR5 RAM, UFS 3.1 storage, a 50MP rear camera setup, and a 5000mAh battery in the mix.

6. Oppo Find X3 Pro

Find X3 Pro’s OLED display has a neat trick up its sleeve. It is capable of presenting more than a billion colors out of the photos taken using the on-device camera. This is far ahead of the 16.7 million colors you’d see on a contemporary display. As for the display specs, it is 6.7-inches in size, has Quad HD+ resolution, 120Hz variable refresh rate, up to 1300nits peak brightness, HDR 10+ standard, 100% DCI-P3, and Gorilla Glass 5 protection. Other things in its repertoire are Snapdragon 888, 4500mAh with 65W SuperVOOC 2.0 flash charge, LPDDR5 RAM and UFS 3.1, and a 50MP rear camera setup.

7. iQOO 9 Pro

iQOO 9 Pro features a 6.7-inch Quad HD+ Fluid AMOLED curved glass display and is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 chipset coupled with up to 12GB RAM and up to 256GB storage. The device features a quad camera setup with a 16MP selfie camera. It packs a 4500mAh battery with 65W fast charging. The device has a racing car-themed design and claims to be a perfect combination of loaded specs and the fastest performance.

8. Realme GT Master Explorer Edition

The curved screen explores a stretch of 6.55 inches. It is AMOLED in kind with FHD+ in resolution, 120Hz refresh rate, HDR10+ support, and 1100nits peak brightness. The protection on top is Gorilla Glass 5. Being a high-end phone, you get performance from Snapdragon 870 5G processor. Other features are a 50MP camera, 4500mAh battery, and 65W charging support.

9. Samsung Galaxy Note20 Ultra

Galaxy Note 20 Ultra has a sultry AMOLED display that’s curved by the edges. But the reason it holds a position in the list while there’s yet another Samsung phone here is because of its uniqueness. Yes, I mean it’s a Note and that means an S Pen support. So you get a 2K display that supports a stylus. Unrelated features but still. Also, it has 1440 x 3088-pixel resolution, HDR10+ support, and Gorilla Glass Victus protection. It is available in both Exynos 990 and Snapdragon 865, depending on the market you buy it from. Other goodies in the package are LPDDR5 RAM, UFS 3.1 storage, 4500mAh battery, 108MP camera, and 5G. 

10. Oppo Reno 6 Pro+

Reno 6 Pro Plus flaunts a 6.55-inch FHD+ punch-hole AMOLED display with Gorilla Glass 5 protection and an in-display fingerprint scanner. The curved screen adds to its beauty. Other features you get with it are Snapdragon 870 chipset, a 50MP camera, 5G connectivity, and a 4500mAh battery with 65W rapid charging support.

11. Realme 10 Pro+

The Realme 10 Pro+ sports a 6.7-inch AMOLED curved display with an FHD+ resolution. The display supports a 120Hz refresh rate, and a 360Hz touch sampling rate. The smartphone is powered by MediaTek Dimensity 1080 chipset with up to 12GB RAM and up to 256GB onboard storage. It has a quad camera setup at the back with a 108MP primary, an 8MP ultrawide, a 2MP macro, and an additional lens. Curved edges seem to be a polarizing feature that I like and am currently using a Motorola Edge 2020 for that reason alone. The trend seems to be moving to curves that are not as drastic/steep which is a shame.
